The conference was organised in order to share experience in the design and implementation of electronic road charging systems. One of the objectives was to make this experience available to governments considering introducing new charging systems. The heavy vehicle fees of Germany, Austria and Switzerland were reviewed together with the London and Stockholm cordon charge systems. Presentations were also made on preparations for the possible introduction of electronic charges for trucks in Russia and for all road users in the Netherlands.
